New bed

In an attempt to resurrect my 91 2wd (trying to make it clean!) I just put another rather large dent in the bed. Both sides are messed up! And not to mention someone put a HUGE load and bent the back of the bed down.

Anyway, I was also thinking about (I know) lowering my truck. There is NO need to lift my truck, and I would think it would look really cool lowered.

Anyway, would it be better to buy a used bed (different color) then paint it? Or just buy some fiberglass bedsides and be around the same price? And it would probably tuck the wheels in better too?

Thanks, Trevor

if your worried about looks, painting a bed to match factory color is almost rediculously hard. Its better to just paint the entire truck to make it match again.

I believe the beds are different. The 2wd bed has narrower flares over the wheels.

Yea same as the front fenders. But 4wd beds and 4wd fenders look better than 2wd on lowered trucks anyways. and they tuck easier.

Nope, actually they aren't. I've already checked this out, my brother has a 94 4x4 same body style and beds are exactly the same. You would think there would be a flare, but measures the exact same.

I'd say go find some 4x4 front fenders and a 4x4 bed so you can tuck more tire underneath. Then get the rig painted something sick like a factory Toyota Royal Blue. After that you can go ahead and regear the back end with some 4.88's, drop in an Aussie and tuck some 40 series street slicks under the sheet metal (dont forget to tub the bed). Lower it till it won't go over a speed bump without dragging and cruise the strip racing mustangs..... You'll be a GOD!!!!

(I'm mildly serious about all of that except the God thing)

And hey if it gets stuck on a roll of quarters dropped in the street you always have the 4x4 to get it unstuck.
