need help B4 paint!

my hood gets very hot and keeps oxidizing my primer and im sure it will do it to the paint on acount im gonna head over the pass next weekend (154miles from my house)
what can i do to prevent the oxidizing? maybe the material thingy that is suposed to be under the hood? i priced one it was 243 w/o discount 152 with my discount thats still ALOT of money? any thoughts please help thanks clint

Go get one from a junk yard it will be way cheaper and will do the same thing.

Do you have the correct timing?
I remember my truck was running lean causing it to run pretty hot.

Couldnt you get some of that dyno mat or whatever its called and attach it to your hood?
