i need to get new fuel injectors acording to the local shop. They want somethign like 700 bucks for them. I am wondering how easy it is to change injectors from what i have heard is is pretty easy? I have done just abotu everytihng except change my injectors.

Also where shoudl i buy them from? Lc hass remanufactures for 200 a set with a core charge.
Is there any upgrades anyone else will sell that are direct fit into the stovck manifold?
Is there any tyhat will bump up performance at all i am open to suggestions.

they tell me that the fuel injectors are all semi clogged and that the engine is runnning really lean because of it. They actually recomended that i pay them 500 to take out all the injectors and clean / rebuild them / clean the intake of carbon and piston tops. I know thta is not hard to replace injectors and i know there is little to no carbon build up on my motor rebuild 4000 miles ago. As for the injectors they have 208k on them.

Pull them yourself and send them to a decent shop:

$15-25/injector is a decent rate.

I think thta sounds lie ka good idea but would there be any benifit of buying say the set of injectors thta are rebuilt from lce? It basically sounds liek they are doing the same thing. The only difference i notice in the description is that they replace to internal screen filter?

just take in your injectors and have them serviced. there are a few places that do it via mail or you should be able to find a local shop that does good work. LC has great stuff, but you'll pay for it.

I recently had mine cleaned and balanced, new o rings. $55 for the set, no need to buy new ones in most circumstances.

That is BS if you ask me. Injectors are always the last thing to consider when you have a problem. In my experiance they are almost never the problem. They work or they don't. You would have to be running some very bad gas for a very long time to clog an injector to the point that the engine would run lean. The ECU will lengthen the pulse due to O2 readings. Like bwhyit said, What is the problem? A ping? No Power? Also what engine are we talking about? 22RE or 3slow?

Send them to witchunter.com - I think the price is $15/each, which includes flow testing them, cleaning them, and installing all new o-rings.

My guess is the shop that's working on your truck isn't sure.. The only way to be sure the injectors are bad is to test them on a bench.

It is pretty easy to take the injector out, all you need to do is remove the 4 studs that hold it in place then it should be free, I just replaced my o-ring and stuff that need and also the green plastic that cover the injector have crack and I reuse them without any problem, by the way all my 6 injector have no green plastic on them, and I just use some of the 3M cleaner to clean the filter located inside the injector, yeah spray it striaght into it, it'll spray out those clog debris, well there is hardly clog anyway...

Also check the wire harness that connect to the injector, mine has a loose connector inside of the plug, I have to glue it.

i have a 22re and the shop did take them out and bench test them. They said they are basically dripping not fogging like they should. They said they can clean them but they want 150 bucks to clean them and i said no way.
