Need to find a mount
Does anyone know where I can find a engine mounting bracket for a 1988 4runner 3.0 v6. Its a bracket that mounts flush to the block, has 4 holes equally spaced at 4 inch centers. I can't install until I have this mount.
Please help if you know where to get one.
Toyota won't sell one to me with out a VIN. The truck it is going in used a different mount.
Attached pic of mount and the block with mounting holes. Also if you have a 88-89 4runner with this type of mount and would share your vin or order the part for me, that would work.

Does this help?
http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/...hString=engine
The reason they want your VIN is because the parts are different depending on, well, I don't know everything that it depends on.

junk yard
I have been trying the junk yards, but know one seems to have one and the problem comes in with the 88-89 having three different mounting brackets for that year for the 3.0 and if they have an 88-89 the engine is usually been removed. I have a friend with an 89, but it has the same mount as my 93.

No, they have it, I think they get a lot of returns for incorrect mount. All three available for those years share the same part number, with different dash number, so it's easy to get the wrong one.
Most of the newer mounts are cast iron and have different hole locations. I may have to use a right side one that I can get on eBay and weld it to a steel plate. The problem with that is the location is critical and I don't have a 4runner to set it up in for alignment.

You say these are 4" centers. Are you sure? Photographs are difficult to use for measurements like this, but you can see why I ask.
Also, whatever the spacing is, it's NOT 4 inches. It might be 110mm or 100mm or something else. If you're trying to get an exact match, you might want to actually measure it.
Last, these dealers aren't asking for your VIN to punish you, so "borrowing" a VIN from someone else is worse than a waste of time. Why don't you just come clean with the dealer and asking them what their restocking fee is? They might be willing to sell you all three and just charge you 20-25% for the ones you return, as long as you're upfront about it. $40 or so is a whole lot better than wandering the junk yards like some extra from "Road Warrior."
