Mystery sheet metal

I feel really stupid asking this... I just finished putting a new engine in my 94 runner. I was very careful to label everything, take notes, draw pictures, etc. so I could put everything back together correctly. This project took place over several months so I knew I wouldn't remember. Well, I got it back together, it runs like a champ, but I have a piece of sheet metal that I can't figure out where it goes. I'm pretty sure it goes underneath the truck; it uses the same bolts as the rock guard. I've attached a photo of the front and back of the mystery metal. Help?

I had a 93 4Runner and that doesn't look familiar, maybe a heat shield?

It's a heat shield under the truck on top of the exhaust if I am not mistaken.

no looks like the heat shield that goes on the drivers side where the down pipe connects to the pre-cat pipe. can be seen when looking in driverside wheel well bolts onto the frome from the inside of the frame.

it sits directly between the driver's side front torsionbar mount and the engine, there are 3 bolt holes on the inside of the frame to mount it. i think it serves at a mud guard

yea i no longer have ifs or stock steering so was unfamiliar with what else is suppose to be there...

A little off topic but I had to excessively trim this piece of metal when I did my 3.4L swap because it was conflicting with the headers.

I agree witht he mud guard theory myself. I still have a little piece of mine left but the rest is rotted off. I've seen no ill effects thus far.
