hahahahahaq. Good one!

(( I assume you're refering to me frozen ignition cylinder solution?))

4 minute JB weld? I had like 60 minute JB weld for it to set-up...then I had to wait 12-24 hours for it to be cured enough..but in the -25 cold, It probably needed like 36 hours.

Ya as the temp drops the cure time sloooows way down.

Anyways other news decided to change my pcv valve what a pain in the a$$. When I removed it almost broke and the rubber grommet that goes in the valve cover broke in like two pieces.
I decided hell with try the parts store nobody has the stupid thing in stock.(I ordered one anyways)
So I head over to the junkyard all of the ones I tried to pull out broke.
Uggh do they all do this?
Why is it such a PITA to change something so simple??
I mean does the rubber turn to hard plastic over time and become brittle?
What gives do they always do that?

Also I'm downgrading my 35" tires today too.
I decided to run some 32x11.50 Muds for now. The 4.56's in it should give it a nice stock ratio I assume.
I am going to be daily driving for a job for a while and I want better mileage so you gotta do what you gotta do.

Well the 32x11.50's are on it's looks ummm well different.
With the white spoke wheels it looks like something from New Zealand or Australia....
A 2" Body-lift makes the tires look tiny..... Well the upside I can do 75 mph no problem now....
Sorry no pics right now maybe sometime later...

Well exhaust work is done.
Lucky me I goto the junkyard I find one truck with a rotted frame and a semi new exhaust.
$15 later it's mine.
It took me all of 30 minutes to sawzall off the old muffler and install the new one whooo whooo.
It's a stock muffler but I don't care it works. No more holely leaking muffler.....

glad the swap wennt fairly well. you posted in my 87 4runner engine swap thread. i was putting a 91 22re into my runner. i also had to use the old injectors, fuel rail, couple electrical things, etc. it took me 2 weekends to do mine, one for the install/removal and one for tuning.

anyhow, glad it turned out well for you.

Thanks ya it went well. I only had one day to work on it so we worked nonstop until we were done.. I guess the mechanicals are mostly the same on 22re's however 88 and up they changed the injector connectors etc.

Ok well I guess I had some problems last week and the fuel filter was clogged. I replaced it and now it runs like a top.

Some pics on 32x11.50's on 15x8 white wheels

Well it's a little shorter but rolls along just fine.

Here's my woman. Thought that would wake some of you up. lol

Oh and I found my old 93 4 runner a couple month's back off rt 100 in Waterbury Center, VT.

Some pics of what's left of it....

It looks like they flopped it at least once bashed it off a few trees.
They did a trail gear front install for sas. Then some kind of leaf springs in the back which looks very wrong since they installed the front of the spring pack on mount of the old lower links.

Here's how it looked before I sold it. It used to be quite clean despite some of the bashing it got from me.

a few month's earlier

Well piecing together SAS parts.
I just ordered this today:

So part 1 is done.

The axle is part 2

I found one with springs for $200 so that will be next.

Then crossover steering.

As far as widing the front axle I think I am going the same as I did on my 82.
I'll be using ifs wheel hubs then using fj60 rotors and the flipping the brake caliper to the outside of the knuckles. I did this by drilling out the threads on the knuckles then using a grade 8 bolt in place through the hole. It worked fairly well.

Like this:

I dunno yet I might just wheel spacers kind of undecided though but this will be a little while away anyways.

From: Cincinnati, Ohio - Amelia is the exact place. There is no one else on this site from where I am. Seems like everyone is from Cali or Washington. I guess I need to move.
Coming together there broski, do you own like 800 pairs of wheels and tires, that thing seems to have different skins on it evertime you post a thread.

Painted the white rims black Got a 48" high-lift and some old steering arms.

I dunno if I will use these or not I would rather just buy the whole kit from trail gear.

Well this is like the 3rd set of wheels on it I think. The 35's weren't ok I couldn't go over 55mph without it shaking bad.
It turned out one of the the rims were bent as a result it chunked the tire bad.
They were fine on speeds below 50 mph but really who wants to drive that slow?
They would have been fine on a trail only rig but mines a daily driver and I got sick of it.
So I downgraded to 32's even trade but they came with a decent set of 15x8 rims.

Update got my trail-gear front hanger with frame jig's shackles etc.

I called the junkyard that had the 85 4 runner front axle they are pulling it monday and I am picking it up wedneday.
Not a bad deal $200 with leaf springs(3" sky-jacker springs I think).
Now basically have to order the hysteer which will probably be next week.
I am going with a flat pitman arm because I want to keep it low.
I found some grooved 1/2 tread 35x12.50 Mud king's that are in decent shape I will probably run on it.

Might have to relocate the steering box but I'll see how it sits with the springs I get with it.
As far as front shock mounts probably I will use the ford f-350 mounts weld those on.
I am looking at mid April in doing the SFA swap so I am psyched.

Future stuff I will likely order a 1" body-lift so it's not so tall and ditch the 2" BL. I will probably do the chevy spring swap in the back or f-150 springs not sold on them as of yet though.

Yup no problem.

Other news went wheeling today had a lot of fun on a local class 4 mountain road in Waterbury VT.
I used the winch 8 times up the hill.
We were pulling not short pulls but long pulls at one point I ran out of cable on the drum.
John was asking for more cable and said I was reeling it in but it was out of cable and going the other way...
On the last pull I got the winch motor really hot.
So hot infact that my alternator and brake light came on and the winch started to slow down quite a bit at 25 ft of cable.
John packed it with snow to let it cool down.
We ended up turning around before we reached the top we got almost 3/4 the way to the top of the mountain.
Close but far oh well. It was difficult driving between ice snow and mud it made for a challenging ride.

Blurry John going by to get the Saying dammit off to get the strap and then have me reel out the winch line again.
Hey he was the one driving that got it in there....

Well I get my axle and springs tomorrow.
I am getting closer to having everything.
I ordered a few more parts from trail-gear bought a axle gusset and a front diff guard.

I'll buy a few more things this week likely u-bolt kit and shock hoops.
I'll probably be ordering my hysteer next week as well.
Mid April is the date I am shooting for to have it all on.

Well brought the axle home today and the springs.

It looks like I need to either run no dust shields or get new ones.
They are kinda bent and crusty.
The old shocks are still on it.
The nuts to the shocks are crumbling the 17 mm I put on it spins round and round.
I think I might just cut the old shock mounts off and put some new ones on.
The springs aren't bad some surface crust with a wire wheel they should clean up decent.
They look to be about 3" lift springs which is what I am looking for. My plan is to try to keep it a low SAS.
