Mounting lights on the bumper

im looking into getting a set of fog lights and id like to mount them on the top of the front bumper, my question is what is the most depth the light can have before i have to cut into the grille? id like to get some hella ff1000 but i dont think they would fit. if anyone has that set-up please let me know how it fits.

So what i gather from the search ( Thanks by the way ) is that the gains from the ff1000 will be minimal since the wattage is the same.. and id be better off getting the hella 500 that fit better and possible switch to a higher wattage bulb if i thought i needed to.....?

Hella 500s are real nice lights. They work great on the front bumper of our 4runners. I guess pickups are the same to. Are you gonna go with driving or fogs?
