Mass load of parts replaced, still no start
#41
was "tuning" the tps, now she wont start, the other day, I had her started and running, but when I went to apply more than half throttle, the truck sputtered and bogged.... I am going to bite the bullet and replace the EGR valve/pipe/sensor and pray to jebus that fixes this problem.. otherwise I am completely stumped

Without that, you get full fuel pressure at low engine loads and that causes too much fuel to be injected and the engine sputters and bogs down.
Also, could be EGR valve plumbing issues. If the EGR opens when it is not supposed to, same sort of problems.
Air flow meter testing (your engine has that, not a Mass Air Flow/MAF sensor):

the flow of the egr is so small it will affect the idle if open when not supposed, over idle it will not make your engine bog only some slight hesitation, did your mechanic use a fuel press gauge? cause if he doesnt know how to test a "afm" that is a simple potentiometer i will trust on him only for a chasis lube.

Either the timing is off or your starving for fuel. Have you changed the fuel filter? It is bolted against the block underneath the intake. That pop sound like it starving for fuel and backfiring through the intake meaning it is running super lean. Make sure you do not have old gas in the tank.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Might also check the intake plumbing for holes or cracks in the rubber bellows sections. Could have an air leak in that area letting in unmetered air. That can cause backfiring as well and can make the engine otherwise run bad. And don't just look at the intake and say it "looks OK". Pull it apart and closely inspect the rubber sections for cracks and holes as you flex them.

would that being cracked or having holes cause it to run like gummy bears too? I have an option out of this motor too

Yes, take off and use a light on the outside and flex and turn the rubber sections and see if any light can be seen inside. Cracks usually form at the base of the folds. But you need to flex the rubber to cause any crack to open up so you can see it.

new problem.....
So got the truck running, but anything more than half throttle it sputters and acts like it wants to die, im trying my hardest to get this done NOW so I can stop driving the girls car...
I have replaced just about everything, what else would cause this problem?
Tired of dealing with this damn thing.
