I want to get some info/opinions.

I bought a Marlin Crawler resurface flywheel and clutch kit
off the classifieds.

While inspecting the flywheel by sight and touch
there is a small pit/groove on the flywheel.

The area is flat around the pit/groove.


Do you think this flywheel will be okay to install.

Not 100% certain....but a pit that small shouldnt make any difference what so ever in the clutch/fly wheel performance nor durability.

Is the defect concave or convex? If it doesn't stick up past the rest of the surface then it shouldn't affect anything. Even if one of the sides of the defect stuck up I still don't think it would be a big problem.

 

If you are referring to the step that runs the whole way around. It's supposed to be that way. Toyota runs a stepped flywheel. There should be something like .020" step between friction and mounting surfaces. (don't quote the spec. I am not sure for your application)
