Exclamation Manual truck radiator in a auto 4runner?

Im looking to replace my radiator on my automatic V6 4runner and all I can find are V6 radiators for manual trucks. Will that work for me?

you will have to get an auxilliary transmission cooler... as looping the lines will cause it to overheat...

Funny, it's usually the other way around.

Most places just stock the auto rad as it can be used in both.

ABS and Non-ABS is also a difference. The ABS one mounts higher to clear the hydraulic lines.

Go to NAPA and get a new radiator that works with both manual and autos for less than $150.

Every 22R/E radiator (OEM) I've seen was for auto or manual.

Don't know about the 3.sucks.

Are you talking about after market radiators, Wabbit? Because the factory radiator in my '93 didn't have the holes for the auto fluid.

Every Toyota OEM radiator I have ever seen on a 22R/E has the auto tranny ports for the tranny cooler on the bottom. They are plugged on the manuals and obviously have lines attached on the autos.

That has just been my experience as with all the other things Toyota did/does it seems a bit wasteful to have 2 different radiators, but that might be the case.

I'm sure someone who has access could compare part #s to see when the difference does indeed start.

Hmm...I know the radiator in my '93 didn't have the auto fluid ports because I was worried I had gotten the wrong radiator when I replaced the OEM one with one from NAPA (which had the auto fluid ports).

Perhaps yours wasn't OEM.

Mayhaps... The truck only had 87K miles when I bought it and the radiator looked far from new and it was leaking (took me 4 years to replace though) It was metal like the other OEM ones I have seen, so I am assuming it was.
