Exclamation lockrite problem "clunking" "jerking" jerking need advice

ok i got a problem!!

installed it and drove detroit ez locker and drove up to Tahoe about 120mi round trip all highway. first, every few secs it would Bang then jerk me left or right. but the big problem is a few times a min it would BANG rev up, sometimes times 200rpm and jerk the truck BBBAD. is that normal, to me its un drivable and is going to brake something else, only does that over about 25mpg. im going to take it out if thats normal.

i have never been in a truck with a lockrite so i have no idea whats normal.

bolth tires spin in dirt now and unlock in parkinglots

i know this is NOT it but, felt like i sucked a bolt through the ring pinion.

the lockrite Manufacturer Part Number: 813a028

got off ebay!

even came with extra parts.... 9pins, 7 springs, few extra spring caps

i think i set the springs and pins up right. (ill post a paing shot pic)

thanks for the help yotatech

Check your tire pressure. Sounds too simple but mine would act similar when one tire was lower than the other.

If the tires check out. Did you check the carrier tolerances when you installed?

ya about ten thousandths. it it may be too tight because of the extra mm of tension on all 4 springs, idk. i think im going to have to take it all apart again tho

Doesn't look right at all. Can you send it back for replacement?
Also, Ive never had issues with unequal tire pressure. The lockrite reacts to tire slip.
Unfortunately it sounds like you need to pull the third again and check your assembly.

Might give Richmond a call. If anything they can send you an instruction sheet. I know it's a PITA, hang in there.
