Men, are your soft topper corner getting soft and saggy with age? Don’t worry, dozens of us experience the same issue. The fix is simple, two $4 sticks of 1” PVC sticks cut at 6’ lengths. Simply roll them into the side windows and you won’t have to worry about the saggy corners flapping in the wind or coming undone.
Best ever "mod" Just suggested this in a build thread here. I couldn't stand that floppy look from day one. If you make them a bit shorter, the fit nicely into the cargo area.
Does your Softtopper mounting have washers or spacers of some sort between the cab and bar?

yeah it’s a “problem” that really doesn’t matter but always bugs me. Which bar are you referring to? The soft topper is exactly as it came from the manufacturer, the pvc is slightly shorter than the fabric so it doesn’t stick out either end.
More pics of your 4Runner please, I need all angles with possible 4 wheeling porn. I need them now.
haha thanks. She’s a pavement princess, After several failed attempts at keeping Toyotas clean I finally managed to build one and not bash it into trees and rocks. I do have a build thread here somewhere called Cheap DD turned resto
So cool. Personally, I'd put some ATs on there, just for MPG and smoothness of driving.
I mean when you mount the softtopper "bar" (the flat iron thingy that the topper snaps to), is it cab -> Softopper "bar" -> bolt into it and tighten down? Or is there a washer or spacer between the cab and "bar".
I am asking because the rearmost 2 / 3 snaps are really hard to snap shut, I am basically hanging on a flap and pulling it down and back with more force than my wife could manage.

if I remember correctly it’s cab - weather strip - flatbar. I don’t remember any washers. And as for the tires, they were “time period” selected. Modern wide all terrains just didn’t mesh like a classic skinny mud tire, and since I couldn’t find buckshots anywhere I went with tsl’s
Dang, incredible!!! TY I love the narrow tires, are they 9.5’s?
Disregard, just checked out your build thread, the tread makes them look thin
i considered red the 9.5s but when I rolled one up to it they actually looked a little too narrow so I went with 10.5s. I probably get more comments about the tires than anything else ha.

Hey, I can really respect period correct. Hadn't thought of that.
I moved from MTs to ATs. Best idea ever for street driving. Heck, I might get some winter tires. (maybe I'm getting old, but grip in on and offramps when wet is kinda cool. My MTs be like. "If you don't pay attention ALL THE TIME, I will show you a 180° so you can look at the traffic behind you!
