Leaking Oil

Ok so I found that my 95 4runner is leaking oil from where the drive shaft mates up with the rear diff, Is that called the yoke? is there a gasket in there too? can I replace all that in my yard?

That is your pinion seal. It is not usually what I would call a 'yard' job, but it's possible.

First make sure the pinion nut is good and tight and well staked and that the diff breather is not plugged up. And if that doesn't help, seal change writeup below:

would this be a good time to change other gaskets and parts in there? maybe install a locker?

if you read the write up your not removing your third
but if you do decided to set up gears lockers then knock that seal out and ignor the write up that 4crawler posted

gears. locker, labor.......about $500+
job for cheap/maybe used/and a buddy install

and not to jump your case search search search search just not in yota tech try google you waited 50min then bumped it...?WTF try posting in Pirate once

You can buy the seal to go in there to stop the leaking. I hope your rear end is not going out either. Is it roaring or vibrating bad? If not then just the seal, if vibration you may need a new rear end. Keep oil in the axle if you can't do the seal or anything.

I did the seal in about 20 minutes with a torque wrench and a large flat head screwdriver and I had never done one before. I'm doing the front end this weekend. Luckily there wasn't a groove worn in my flange so it stopped the leak. 4000 miles later it's still holding up. I might have just got lucky.
