I own a 1986 4runner and it has "the sag" in the back due to the worn out and tired leaf springs (plus my 4runner was towed to Mexico a few times before I owned it). I can get my hands on a pair of 83 pickup leaf springs for fairly cheap, so my question to you experts is....
Will they fit on my rig? Will they bolt right up?
If not what would be a good replacement for my tired leaf springs?
Any recommendations?
I don't want a lift and I don't want the back to sag after I install them due to my 200lbs fiberglass top. any opinions or response would be greatly appreciated.

Well, you're putting on OLDER springs that are probably more worked in than your saggy ones..
I would buy new stock ones if i were you..
And buy new rear shocks as well.

 

shackles are another option although that might be considered "lifting" it.

my 86 sags. it looks funny, but i really dont mind it

 

shackles won't help, they'll just move it down temporarily, and his springs will probably go into a negative arch..

i put in an AAL, and it was in a used pickup, mind you.
My pickup, literally rides like pure hell.
if i had more time i'd take the darn things out and deal with the saggy/soft ride.
but i'm also going to get bigger tires next year >.>

BTW i have the short-style ones..
get the longer ones, they aren't as harsh a ride.

 

I am afraid I am a renew the lot sort of person, I would/did replace all my springs and shocks with a 2" lift in it as well, best thing I could have done. That is just me though, and I am NO expert. Just a nut case on the loose.
