Kick Panel speaker pods

Hey guys I've had enough of the puny 4" speakers up front so I'm going to put 6 1/2's up there i'm not very technically inclined at all so the q-logic kick panels seem the route to go but they are freakin expensive does anybody know where the cheapest place to get them would be and if any other company makes a similar product or does anyone want to sell some color does not matter

Thanks

just buy some BOSE 4" speakers.

the crappy speakers sound terrible at every size.
its not the size, its the specifications.

a cabinet will help but there are also free-space speakers available.
keep an eye out for sales on last years models.

brands i like
phoenix gold
bose
jbl (near perfect cones)
mb quartz

-
paper cones have a better responce, while the poly cones will take more abuse- weather-sunlight-fingers-paws etc.

ill tell ya, i was gona do the same thing with the kick panels, until one day i was browsing through the car audio section at walmart, and saw some lightning audio (basicaly rockford fosgate) 4in speakers for like $30, that peaked at like 90 watts, and figured what the heck ill try em. Got home, got em installed and WOW i was very plesently surprised! you can fade your sterio towards the front a little and it sounds great. what im sayin is go out and buy some decent 4in and just try em. if you dont like them go ahead with your kick panel plan.

you could think about just putting some better 4 inchers up front, right now crutchfield has some infinities real cheap and free shipping.

I cant say enough good things about my q-forms. 4" speakers pointed at the floor will never sound good regardless of quality.

Where's BumpinYota when you need him? Thats the guy you need to talk to. I do believe he can make you custom boxes as well. You should shoot him a PM. Haven't seen him post on here much as of late, but I know he's been on with in the last week.

Where did you get those kick panels?! That's exactly what I need for the 2wd. I won't dare put them in the 4wd!

You guys have got to be kidding me, right?
i've got 4" infinity's in my dash and theyre good over 125hz... anything under... terrible.
I disconnected them completely.
i'm now running some 6" components in bumpin_yota's custom kick panels, and it f-in rocks my socks off.
You just cant hit the mid bass without a larger cone dia.
4" is good for mid-treble and high's, nothing else.

You could always put some 6"~ speakers in your doors with these $10 adapters... https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...roblem-130164/

I DID look. I looked everywhere for q-forms kick panel 87 toyota to be exact. It was about midnight, so I was dead tired and may not have seen something.

i bought a set of q-logic kickpanels with mb-quartz components and crossovers on ebay last year for like $200. they're awesome looking and they sound good but they take a beating - they fill up with snow during the winter and the speakers have started rusting on the metal frame. also, the grills get kicked in constantly, especially if i'm wearing workboots. and passengers rest their feet on the passenger one (bastards) and it's often popping out of place.

if you could bolt them in they'd probably be much more stable - mine have holes drilled in them to fit the bolts that are sticking out of the floor but i've never bothered to get some nuts and bolt 'em down.

they give good sound, though. they sound -way- better if you pack the backside with polyfill. a lot of guys fiberglass the back to give them a bit more strength.
