Keyless entry aftermarket?
Hi guys! This is my first post here and I'm new to the truck community. I've been in the car scene before('04 Acura Rsx Type-S) I know the ins and outs of Honda and now starting to know about Toyota ... Anyway. I've been looking around for keyless stuff for my 94 Toyota Pickup but most of what I found we're troubleshooting for existing keyless(Which my truck does not have). I'm looking to add lock unlock capability through a remote. I've a few but all those universal bull˟˟˟˟ is usually a scary hit or miss If anyone has any insight on that it'd be great!
That's the one I was looking at from AutoLoc

Do you have power locks already? (The one you cited has "universal" solenoids.)
If you already have power locks, you can get keyless entry AND alarm with this one.
Of course, no matter what route you go, a lot of splicing is in your future.

Just grab a locking solenoid from the junkyard and run a power wire from the battery to it with a magical hidden switch somewhere in your door.

However, in my minimalistic opinion, why take a truck known for it's simplicity and robustness and add complexity and more things to break?
If one can insert key in ignition and turn it, how much harder is it to insert key and unlock the door?

Rad, maybe i explained badly, I meant to put the button on the outside of the door. I realize it isn't as exciting as a remote that does the deed but in my opinion it is actually better than carrying around a button in your pocket to simply have the button on the truck. I find it to be especially convenient to leave the key in the truck (or develop another method of starting the truck such as the prius button deal) and unlock the truck by touching it somewhere convenient to unlock the doors.
