As stated... will tj front coils fit in the rear of a 93 4runner? I thought I read somewhere that they would but can't find the post now.

 

i havent heard of TJ coils being used but i know that
front coils off of yota landcruisers will give you 3.5" of lift in rear of 4runner

hopefully, this will do someone some good. it was DJ99 who used front coils from a '97-'06 Jeep TJ to lift his sagging rear about 3".

I'm looking into doing this myself, since it's very similar to the ZUK mod but without having to weld into the frame on my clean 4runner. Plus if I decide I don't like it or if I go another route, it seems pretty easy to uninstall.

Anyone else have any experience with this or more info? I'd like to try and fab up some brackets or plates that I could bolt in to retain the springs...for some reason I have an insane fear that those springs will somehow come flying out of there without being bolted in...maybe I'm just paranoid.

Anyone think of any issues this mod would create?

 

I'm wondering what the spring rating is on the TJ coils. I'm considering putting them on my pickup, but don't want it to ride overly stiff.

 

I think you use the rear springs. the passenger side springs are longer then the driver side (or visa versa) and depending on how much lift you want you use matching coils from one side or the other.

 

Putting Jeep parts on a Toyota will make it explode.

Yotaman85 - you must have something against killing babies, I just read your other post about 3" body lifts killing babies. I might do both now! Haha

 

Rear 80 springs 89-95 4Runner rear.

Front 80 springs are 3rd gen rear's IIRC.

 

if it kills babies im completely against it. I hate jeeps, junk (IMVHO) except XJ 2doors and old flat fenders. 3" body lifts are dangerous i the event of a accident, too much leverage on the body mounts and raise CoG without any real benefit. well maybe fitting bigger tires and cooling if you drop the fan shroud and radiator and get the correct hoses and extend your filler neck and yada yada yada... i just dont like them. a 1" is cool if you want to lift your drive train up and out of the way.

 

I was just messin with ya yotaman, I dont really like Heeps or body lifts over 1.5".

 

So you're saying it'd look better if I removed my 14" of body lift?
