Hey guys is there a replacement dome light that's easy to install ....maybe a clear cover with an led bulb?

The standard led bulbs fit the bulb holder.

A clear cover I wouldn't recommend, the factory cover is designed to spread the light out and prevent hot spots..

The trucks have the same mounting position at the rear of the cab you'll find on a 4runner (between front and rear of the cabin) it's a good spot to add an extra lamp

1989 pickup, the existing dome light is attached to the rearview mirror. An led bulb shouldn't get hot right?

LED runs cooler than incandescent.

 

I swapped a second gen 4runner dome lamp in with a little dremeling. the little knob broke off mine and the lamp base is NLA, the lenses are still available through Toyota
