Installing Crossover pipe

Hi I'm replacing the HG on my 93 SR5 4runner and I've hit a wall in the reassembly process. I can't seem to get the Exhaust crossover pipe back in. I got it out after I got the heads off last time but I didn't put it back in before I put the heads back on cause the FSM didn't say to, I knew I should've I just didn't (stupid mistake). Anyways anyone got any tips on how to get it back in there? Do I have to remove the heads?

Anyways here's where I am.

Possible to maybe move the motor forward just enough to get it back in there if you unbolt the motor mounts, loosen tranny cross member(jack under tranny) and use engine hoist to move forward just enough to get back in there may work. You will have to losen the exhaust bracket bolts to get play in it as well. Just an idea

take Crossover pipe......go to your nearest bridge, throw it off, kiss it goodbye...

take the driverside manifold to the exhaust shop, have him weld up the hole for the crossover on that manifold.

put manifold back on the truck, whenever you get it running, and have them fab up a new crossover that runs under the transmission.

camo has got a point. The best thing for the 3.0 is to dump the factory cross over and get/make headers.

Lol thanks for the input but I got it in from the drivers side wheel-well. It took a couple hours but its do-able if you use your head. This beast has 222k miles on her and I bought it for 700 (with the HG issue) so I'm not looking to dump a bunch of money into it
