Holley tuning.

So I am completely fed up with this carb.. I traded a car for my truck and it came with this holley. I need help tuning it.. today I tried going up a small hill and it completely floods out and dies.. and wont start on any kind of angle.

are you saying you have a holley on a 22r? if so which holley? 2bbl, 4bbl? To my knowledge even the 2bbl holley is way too much for a stock motor.

It's a 2bbl I can feel it when I drive it that it is too much but for now I was hoping for some insight to tune this pos! lol

You might try rejeting the carb and see if that helps. Also make sure the float level isn`t set to high.

Is there just a screw for the float level or something else?

Most holly`s ive seen have a screw on top of the float bowl to adjust the float.

ok.. clockwise our counter for lowering the lever? and should i just turn it way down or just a little bit..

Ok, its been a long time since i tuned a holly, but it i remember right there is a brass plug on the side of the bowl, unscrew it and see if any fuel comes out, if it does the float level is to high and you need to lower it. Loosen the nut that`s around the float screw and turn it clock wise to lower the float level. You need to do this with the truck running and on level ground.
