help finding thread on electric speedo
Someone mentioned an electronic speedometer cable replacement in another thread, some sr5 cluster swap, I need that thread. Basically I know marlin sells this little thing:

But I will not be swapping an sr5 cluster in. Is there another electronic sensor that plugs into the stock cluster?
Basically, is there any way I can convert my stock cable into an electric sensor?

I know neither of mine are electric and from the looks of the above posts, they know also...I thought there may be something I could install in the cluster...
which is the earliest year cluster that offers an electric speedo? Shoot, I'll probably just get one from the stealership.

Oh, I get it! Swapping speedometer heads, like Abe said!
As in, sacrificing a later cluster for the speedo head, to be installed in your cluster; then a little wiring harness from the new sender.
I think the Marlin sender is an equivalent to the OEM electrical sender.
Good question re. Introduction Date (of the electrical speedo)! Anecdotes suggest '92 model year (for Trucks, 4Rnrs are different...).
(Does TOYOTA Inc know the switchover date, and/or, VIN? Does anyone know?)
And, ...I just have a feeling that the listed price of an OEM cluster will be close to the price of a good used Toyota Truck. Anybody know?
