Hella 500..Rock from HELL!!!

Okay, so I finally get around to installing my coveted Hella 500s on my front bumper a few months ago. Everything looks great. I go out to help my wife's girlfriend who's Escort snaps a timing belt and POW... a gravel truck a few car lengths in front of me sends a rock flying straight into one of my Hellas. So the question is... anybody know of a lens replacement source of am I out of luck?

how much did they cost you? i think the 500's are cheap enough that you can just go by another set...maybe NSOR even sells em separately?

you DID have the plastic covers on them...right?

Thanks for the link.

Nope - didn't have the covers on.

I'll drive drive down to NSOR and see what they say.

Cheers.

If you can find them still, get the clear covers for the Hella 500s.
I ran them on the old rig.
Nice thing is when you want to use the lamps, no need to take the covers off.
They will reflect the rocks!

The old rig

On all my lights I have the clear vinyl covers. Not sure they would of stopped that rock but they keep the pitting from the small stuff down to nothing.

you can order em, or they sell em with some of the sets of 500's they sell...just go get a new set then you'll have backups. they're only like $50 now

I once broke a 550 fog lamp and ended up getting a 2nd set. Since having the spare lamp, have not broken another lamp in nearly 10 years.

Not sure of the diameter of the 500's, but measure them and give the place below a call.

No pics, no longer have the vehicle. Not much to see any way, think of a clear bra except the light covers are a few mm thick.

Watch using the plastic covers since at low speeds the lamps don't cool as well and will crack;this happened to my 550s on my '97 but they still worked.
