Header recommendations??
Hey all
So Ive got a leak in my manifold, and its getting worse and worse so I need to replace it.
But I plan on doing a bit of engine work over time so I figured Id just go with a header. So Im wondering if anyone has any recommendations?
When I built my celica I ordered most of my performance parts from LC Engineering and have liked their products. They have a header for my truck but the only thing is it says it eliminates the o2 sensor.
its a 1988 22re, just wondering how the heck that works, or what do I need to do to bypass that in the computer?
Also a code reader for that beast... is there something in particular I need or some sort of universal one?
Thanks!

I have LCE headers on my '93 3.0L and love em, but I still have the O2 sensor. I know that doesn't help you at all, but as far as quality goes I couldn't be happier.
If you're handy with a welder you could always tap into your exhaust system and mount the O2 sensor that way. I'm by no means an expert though so before going down that road I'd wait for a reply from someone who knows the 22re (I wish). Good luck

They (LCE) have another header that is smog legal and has the o2 sensor hole. I am probably going to go this route also. There was a thread about headers and cams, that had theoretical dino results but i cant find it now?? Cant remember if it was here or on pirate?? Not sure how to post a link but here is the web page for the LCE street header! http://www.lceperformance.com/Street...-p/1041036.htm

If you check the board a lot of guys recommend the LCE, so that's what I ordered for my build (50 state legal 4WD 22RE direct fit). Just so happens it arrived today and greeted me when i came home from work!
Contents, I also ordered the new header studs
New studs in place, they are longer than the oem
Bolted up finger tight for now, was too excited to just let it sit in the box before going to bed , would've had a restless night wondering.... FYI - I had to remove the heat shields to get it in, I think I can bolt them back up now that it's in place, someone here should know.

Very nice Grego, and I totally get it, cant let new shinies sit in the box.
Like I said, pretty much everything in the celica is from LCE. Except the header actually, thats a pacesetter. But figured theyd be a good place for the truck too. I just had a blind blonde moment and totally missed that option lol.
The exhaust leak is getting worse and worse and Im keeping my fingers crossed that its the most of my problems, cause I do not have time to deal with this hunk o junk right now.
