You really need both of them

I am running 2 35 watt bulbs as extra back up lights works great.

Then you are in Texas maybe you have contests on Friday night to see who can back up in a straight line after the bars close.

Resistors in a 200 watt circuit would be good if your idea was to see just how much current draw you could create when the reverse switch closed.

Perhaps enough so the ecu shut down in a life saving move.

Don't need to hook it up to back-up switch.
Just wire switch so you can turn t on when you need it, although a relay circuit is the the ideal way to do it.

Yeah, those are good relays.

I should add that I am pretty impressed that you did not lash out at the forum folks having a little fun with you. Most folks get up in a snit, which really does not accomplish much at all.
YUP, whatta good sport.
But try posting on pirate4x4 - LOL!

Thanks for the help, picture is with covers on the lights. Used a SPST 40 amp relay, and hooked up a 20 ? (Amp or watt?) fuse between the pos battery to relay, and grounded relay with the wires from the lights, to side of truck where my battery grounds out. Wired into the reverse switch and I'm stoked.

If I wanted to hook to a switch in the cab where would I tie into just the power and ground line? And to make it switch on with cab switch would it make the reverse lights come on? Like if I was just driving around Gauges out-image-3441481186.jpg
