and i can't stress enough how careful to be when doing it. mine snapped right off, and i had a helluva time finding a replacement. later on, i realized i shouldn't have wasted my time finding the correct part and jerry rigged it

Ok, I am just going to jerry rig it, should I cut the metal on the hanger and use some fuel line and clamps or should I cut the hose and put in a metal tube and some clamps?
Or is there a better way you guys can think of?

Don't cut anything unless you can replace it with the right part. pb blast that connection and the wrench it off if it breaks you need a sending unit $175.00 from the dealer. I did mine a few months ago gl.

I've tried both ways, PB'd it last night and this morning and can't get that sucker off of there, I stripped out the small one a little so I am using vise grips on it now and it just wont budge, I'm gonna go try some more but I think I'm gonna be out a bunch of cash

Well If anything try not to harm the fuel line(rubber one) looks like you might need to buy a sending unit anyway you got the tank down and no sense n doing that again.
Try cutting the metal hose on the sending unit so you can get a better angle on the rubber hose to take the piece apart

Tank is still in the truck right now, I broke the metal one so I am now going to try to rig something after I try cleaning up the pump, it's freakin nasty, any ideas how to clean it up, or should I buy a new one?
