#23270 at the front of the fuel rail

Available here

or not much more for OEM. Gahh! The link won't hold info. You'll have to paste this part # in 23270-35010

Not exactly sure what it does. I guess as the name implies, dampens pulsations in the fuel supply. My OEM was plastic and cracked after 20+ years. Also importantly, the gasket is a one time use item though I think I got away with re-use once, but not twice. That is more likely a dealer only item, thats where I ended up.

Edit. Click the "more info" button on the Rock Auto link for a pic

Spend the few extra bucks and get it from the dealership! Trust me.... I got one from NAPA and one from Carquest and took them both back! The one from NAPA actually broke while I was installing it. The factory dampener is of a MUCH higher quality, you can see just by looking at it.

I did some research on this a while back and I found out that the damper is only on the 84-88 22re models. On the 89-95 models it is just a banjo bolt so maybe you can replace your damper with a banjo bolt from a later model truck?

Sorry to bring back to life an old thread!
Can somebody tell/show me where to find the fuel pulse damper on an 86 22RE? I believe this may be the problem on my truck, but have no idea where to look for this.
THanks

Its on the front of the fuel rail, look at the fuel rail just below the throttle body and you will see it.

Maybe. They have a copper gasket that is supposed to be a one time use. I got away with using mine twice, but no go the third time. Toyota part # 9043017002. Just under 2 bucks. Good luck.

So i discovered teh pulse damper, and removed the plastic cap over it, to find it was leaking an oily substance(should there be oil coming out there???) I have not yet tightened the screw on the inside, im going for a new gasket tomorrow. Any advice for properly setting the adjustment?
