I like my TJM. If you have a wife, just don't show her the bill...

nope no wife, but im 18 and still need to put up with the parents for a little longer. im looking for something in the 200 dollar range because most of my money goes into building my 83 but until thats done i gotta wheel something, and im pretty sure that if i got a nice bumper for my 87, when my 83 is done it would not fit on that one too, am i right?

The steel alone will cost 2x that!

IMHO, full custom is the only way to go. It's the only way to get exactly what you want. By the time you buy a standard one, and modify it for what you want (front receiver, air storage, stinger, light mounts, etc) you have what a custom one would have cost into it.

Both mine and Molly's were made at AllPhase in Longmont, CO:

All-Pro and Marlin sell a tube style front... but start around $400.

Bumpers are spendy. Do you have any fab skills, or know someone who does? Might be a good first fab project. If you don't plan on mounting a winch or grinding massive rocks you can build a decent bumper that will be up to the task even with entry level ability.

Just search YT for some different ideas. You'll find all sorts of, shall we say... unique options. Some are perfect. Some take a while to get used to.

Dude, save up and get a good bumper, if you get something cheap, chances are you'll end up buying a good one later. Good luck!

bigrocks offroad has a simple one at 300. most are 300+ unless you've got some connections to tubing and friends who can bend and weld.

OMG thank you EWA! That bigrocks winch bumper is exactly what I've been looking for. All I gotta do is weld a stinger onto it!
