They should have it, Country, .... check them all, Pep Boys, AutoZone, Kragen, ...but Napa most likely will if the rest don't. Personally, I would MAKE ONE.... if you can't find it soon enough, of course. Go to ANY parts store, buy some "Gasket Material" by 3M, and then cut it out to fit from a mold, ...then you should be in to win! I might have one if you need it.... PM me or drop a message on my build if you just can't find it, and I'll look for one that I think I have, ...maybe, lol.

Hahahha, ..Yeah, I hear ya.... but really, there's 'those guys' in ANY store..... Even Toyota in my recent experiences! lol. The kids just don't really know much of the older rigs, ..... some do, but most, yeah. But really, when I ask for a "Front Main Seal" and the girl asks, ..."Where is that?" .... 'sighhhhhhhhh', it brings me down a peg in the "I'm near finding what I'm after today" dept! lol.

S'all good, you'll find it. I recently, from Napa, got Diff to Body gaskets, Felpro Front and rear main seals, ... all in stock and NO MORE than O'Reily for the 'Super Seal' WHATEVER brand, lol.

Best wishes on the hunt! <<< Sure you'll be up early and CAFFEINATED 'G2GO!' LOL.

Yeah autozone is pretty much clueless about some things..Napa or Toyota will be your best bet if you want the actual gasket.

However, making it yourself will work just fine. I usually use a small hammer, just set it on the plate and tap the edges and the gasket will tear off on that edge. The inside is a little tricky since it doesn't really have an edge..just kind of a flat spot. With the bolt holes just take a metal tube the same size as the hole and tap it through the gasket, or mark it and cut it out.

It might take a few tries but eventually you'll get it. Let us know how it goes!

I agree, Bass, ...but honestly? ... I'm pretty sure a package of that stuff will be about the same, maybe more than the actual gasket that he needs. And, well, ....that's not one I'd wanna get a LILLLLLLLL bit wrong, only to have to change it once the motor's in and running, ya know? lol. Heck, I hate even getting that DANG GROUND BOLT OUT! lol.

I would prefer the actual gasket over that stuff, but if your having a hard time finding it or no one has it/heard of it then I would choose this route. I was just sharing a tip on how to do it if he wanted to go that way.

I'm just leaving more options on the table, but I would still advise using the real gasket.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...erial/_/N-25w7

I originally used a gasket the from the kit on mine but when I swapped heads I couldn't find it without getting the whole kit. I used it on the back plate, thermostat housing and one of the metal coolant tubes under the intake. So far daily driving for 3 months and all is good.

Still, try and find the real thing first. This is just a "pinch fix", but will work for now.

If I had to get it off with it in the truck I wouldn't be that worried about access, but cleaning and prepping it would be hard in that small space.

hey guys, sorry i got side tracked with a little thing called life. I thought i would give you a update on the yota and post pics in a few days. Like i said a few posts back i found the gasket that i needed from a buddy, it has been a journey to get this thing road ready, and still working on it. lol, but thats part of the fun no? after the gasket i needed a water pump, upper intake gasket, thermostat and the gasket. i bought a new clutch and pressure plate as well because the ones i had were fried. the tweekers only had 3 bolts holding the transmission in as well.. lol. so i ordered new bolts for everything, got the tranny put in, got everything exchanged. with the problems fixed new ones occurred, on really weird... for some reason my truck will only start if the e-brake is on... any solution to this? lol its weird, you will be driving it and it dies, u stop pull the ebrake and your off again. im also thinking about making my own arm rests, maybe casting a mold... i dont know yet. welp there is the update, the yota is commin along. well, does anyone have a good site for arm rests? and interior
