Going by that pic, I'm sure he's gorgeous, Kirk.
I've got two African Greys (one's named Thook.....where I took my username from, incidentally....rhymes with spook), two Amazons, two Cockatoo's (one Umbrella and one Moluccan), two conures (one sun and one green cheek) over a dozen cockatiels, parakeets, and assorted other types.
The Cockatoo's are the loudest mf's on the face of the planet. Uggh! But, we (my wife and I) have an animal sanctuary. So, you just kinda live with it...lol!
Oh, and they bite really f'n hard, too!

So, today its like 85 degrees and its sunny. Went for a drive. Went to town and in town it idles at 750. On the way home I drove 50mph and had a REALLY light foot. It started surging like hell. It was idling at 1600 rpm fully warmed up...wtf?? This is getting to be REALLY annoying. I'm actually getting to the point of sick of it.

well let's see- it idles fine then it doesn't.
vacuum leaks, water air temp sensors,
sticking throttle, return spring, cable or pedal?
when it's idling high, pop the hood and see if you can put a bit of pressure on the throttle and get it to idle down.

So, I would assume its something electrical wise...like a sensor or something. Maybe since its warmer it expands and sticks...who knows
I'll check some of these things

I'll be taking it apart again anyway...hopefully I get my job in two weeks too
Then, I'll get a discount on auto parts

I was an idiot and took it apart to fix it and I got to taking the pan off and put everything back together really fast. And left the problem alone. Got the head back from the machine shop and slapped it on. I've had coolant leaks, injector leaks, over heating, and surging. Just down to the idle and the compression
heya 91Toyota... did you adjust the valves on the truck?

Also, what causes my thermostat problem? Why would I all of a sudden need to drill a d@mn hole in it to get my truck to work.
The problem is the thermostat wouldn't open till it reached about the red zone. Then I drill a hole in the thermostat and it works fine. Wonder if I drilled too big of one

possibly your hole is too big.
the t-stat I've got in my 88 and 91 both have little jiggle valves in them. and both work fine.
4crawler touches on this on his page http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/index.shtml open the page and search on it for the word overshoot and start reading.
also, thook wrote about it in THIS thread at the top of page 7 https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...l#post50819214

Alright, put a bunch of oil into #3 cylinder and my compression went up to 235psi!!! WOW!!! So, it must mean my rings are bad...right? Unless oil can fix valve leaks or something like that??
