I replaced mine with stainless steel bolts, nuts and washers, liberally coated with anti-sieze compound. I think I just put a socket on the nut and twisted it off to snap the bolt when I first took mine apart.

I had to heli coil the exhaust manifold/ypipe on my girls 4runner. When I removed the exhaust pipe I broke the bolts. Just went to the local parts store and founds bolts that where the same size.

Go for it!

I think I'd probably use a grinder and a cutoff wheel to get most of it, and then grind the rest off. A sawzall is going to be kind of impractical there due to the cramped working space.

x2... mini grinder would be easier.

That said, are you just replacing the hardware because it's rusted, or are you taking it apart anyways to replace a gasket or cat converter or muffler, etc...

If you're just replacing them because they're rusted, I wouldn't bother doing it until you have a reason to.

I would use a cut of wheel on an electric or air grinder if you have one. Saws all I think will shake things around too much.

typical... just sawzall em out, and tap the rest of the bolt through the other side with a hammer; it's just a bolt going through, it's not welded
