Engine Question

I am working on my 94 Toyota with the 22 RE and when i call to order parts they say it has a 2400 motor, is that the same thing i thought it was a 2200? Also i am replacing the head gasket and need to know the torque sequence for the head bolts and torque specs. Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, it is a 2.4 liter or 2400 cc. The 22R/E is just a designation and does not reflect displacement.

I believe the 20R motor (from 70s, maybe some in use eraly 80s?) was 2.2L or 2200 CCs.

Oops...I just realized you wanted the torque specs, not the torque specs.

58 ft lbs

Tighten inside to outside and do it in 3 passes w/ the last pass being 58 ft lbs

I think he meant the torque specs for torquing the head down after doing the HG.
