Driveshaft Swap W/3.4 Conv.
Hey everyone...
I just got done doing a complete engine conv. in my 89' extended cab 4x4 pickup. Threw out the 22re and installed a 3.4 w/auto out of a 2003 tacoma.
Anyways, everything is all done except the shock mounts and driveshaft. The driveshaft is about 5-7" too short. Now here is the question. How long is a driveshaft out of a smilar year 3.0 w/auto truck? Doing the swap with the 3.0 w/auto doesnt need driveshaft mods correct? Im thinking it may be easier just to buy the front portion of the driveshaft from a salvage yard then getting it extended by a driveline shop.
And last question I swear If anyone could get a measurement off there driveshaft (1989 or equivelent 3.0 w/auto extended cab) from flange to flange. That would be AWESOME!!!

No need for the 4x4 anymore. Plus the truck has custom spindles so have 4x would be impossible. The truck has an insane amount of articulation (3-link) plus a locker so it is pretty much unstoppable. Very fun to drive non the less.
The truck is a dezert whore. haha. It goes everywhere from death valley all the way to mexico.

I would love to see your tranny cooler. Sorry, PM me if you don't want to get off the subject.

There aren't too many people with 2wd ext-cabs around I guess. Maybe if you put that in the title it might help. What ever you do don't ask about a 2wd on the EXTREME ROCKCRAWLING Pirate board, oops too late lol . I'd like to see more pics of your rig.
