Doorless

I wouldn't wheel without doors either - at least get some tube doors, something to keep major portions of body parts in the vehicle.
1/2 doors are time consuming, but relatively easy to build:
These have a welded "frame" - but you can do them in all glass with some minor creativity. One nice thing about toyotas is they're super common. Pick up a cheap set of doors for well under $100.

i have a set of half doors for my 1st gen 4 runner. I always thoguh a second gen would look tight with half doors on the front and back. As for 5 point seat belts must people only use 4 point seatbelts outside of the competition racing world but i have tlak to my friends dad who is a police officer and he told me thta they would never hasel anyone who was wearign a 4 point harness on the street even if it was against the law ( he didnt know). They are happy to be seeing peopel wearing seatbelts period. But yes Greg_canada is right to moutn a 5 point in the ideal way is to have a stringer bar on a cage right around were the belts go through the seat but for street and offroad use it there is no way why running them to the floor wouldnt be aceptable. Most 5 point "standards" are created for high speed racing use. But really dotn see why one would want 5 point harnesses for use in a offroad truck or runner. Mabey in a competiton setting like formula toys yes but for nrowm loffroad you cant turn and look and swivel liek you need to to look with a 5 point. If saftey is what you want invest in a good 3 in. strap lap belt. for offroad.
Your better off to get half doors and stick with normal belt or a decent lap belt. It gets really old after a while rolling with no doors anywya. Nothign to rest your arm on or anythign liek an armrest

I have tube doors on my truck and I love them! I run all year long with a bikini top too.
I dunno about the law where you are at, but in Arizona you have to have a mirror on the drivers side. I made a bracket and threw mirrors on both sides though:

While researching this a while back, one thing I ran into was that in some states, you need a 2" lip to keep stuff from rolling out of the floor, in order to run doorless legally.
Ever climb into a Jeep? Even the Cherokee has a 2" lip that is a pain in the butt to climb over if you're not expecting it.
I figure you could get some 2 or 2.5" angle iron, cut it to length, and screw it on with sheetmetal screws. This could also help keep the feet inside.

Hello all, this is my first post on this site.Up till about 2 years ago we(wife&I)were proud JEEP owners,Her a 84 CJ-7 me an 83 CJ-8 we lived in FL. for a few years and almost never had the doors or tops on.We loved it.
Well, now we have 01 4-runner for her and me an 92 pick-up DLX . So I was thinking the same thing...if jeeps can do it why can't I??? Well let me tell you why (at least in PA.) It's because you have to have the 4 inch or so lip at the floor to keep your feet in...Thats what I was told by the state police...Yes I got a ticket,I did;nt have to pay anything I just put the doors back on....It started to rain anyway...and yes I had a driver side mirror

Gosh this has become a mushy board!
Hey peanut, cut your doors in half or take them, both work great. But get some cheap four point harnesses on e-bay and tell your parents that you'll be ableto spot rocks and obstacles better so as to avoid them, and I would assume you'd be golden.
