Doing donuts in my runner in the dirt now power steering pump vibrating
So I was out in a huge dirt field today messing around doing a bunch of donuts swinging the 4Runner around and as soon as I was done
I got some crazy vibrations coming thru the steering wheel with some crazy noise , looked around at all the steering components and everything looks fine , but when I start turning the steering wheel the vibration starts and the power steering pump starts trembling? Did I fry the powering steering pump ? I also noticed my manual hubs were in the locked position while I was in 2wd. Could that have stressed out the pump ? I know it’s no big deal to drive in 2wd with the front hubs locked but while doing donuts maybe not ! Any thoughts or conclusion would be be much appreciated. My power steering pump has about only 5k miles on it and the steering box has about 2k miles on it.
I also have the 3.0 v6

Did you unlock? Still doing it? Belt is tight? Removed belt and it goes away with the power steering then it's the pump or box)
Think about it: If the axles get locked to the fron wheel, the half axles in front will spin, the front differential will spin, the front drive shaft will spin, the input, idler and counter gear will spin. Since there is no connection to the rest (when you are in 2wd) it cannot make any sort of difference.
So I think you just went crazy with the steering left and right in the snow/ dirt (on anything bigger than 31" it's basically undersized) and it's probably a vatozone 99 special? If not, return it and get a replacement.
