Diesel conversion underway

Curious if you've had much luck with jarco halfcuts..for instance, was everything packed well? Clean?
I seem to remember hearing good and bad about them but I could be mistaken..
If you happen to do an accurate measurement of fuel economy when you finish that would be interesting to hear about

Hey Dieselyota, glad to hear you completed your swap.
It's strange in Japan and the UK the most average KZN-130's are automatics, and here in Spain all the 4Runners (Diesel or gas) were manuals, I think there's no automatic 3.0TD LHD 4Runner...
You need one of those now:

I suppose there's no problem to get them in the stealer, but the cost will be expensive (At least uses to be).
In yards bad... They use to cut the wires...
But remember here we've KZN-130's with 1KZ-T engines, not 1KZ-TE.

Even still the last variant of the 6.5 before the introduction of the 6.6 duramaxx pushed the block to its limits with hp eclipsing 230hp and tq over 450tq...Compared to today's diesels yes. For that matter the 6.5L I drive around and the 7.3 navistar I444 (old powerstroke) is too. But the 6.2 was infinately better than that damn 5.7.

In one of the first posts you mentioned using biodiesel.
If it's a 1KZ-TE you will have to have the injection pump rebuild with Viton O-rings (I think it was Viton).
We have a lot of those engines here, 1KZ-T and 1KZ-TE types, and the high pressure common rail injection pumps fail over time (read: short period, like months) when used with biodiesel.
I'm not making this up, this is based on experience over several years. Like 98% of the toyota van's, busses and 4X4's are diesel here in the Netherlands.
That makes my gasser quit rare here.

i will absolutely go diesel soon and get an extra tank ... i am yet to decide on an egnine ... i have an '88 22re ... thinking about a 1kz-te or a 6cyl 1hz ... but i am leaning more toward a 4cyl for economy and ease of the swap

dieselyota, curious what kind of mileage you're getting out of that 1kz and how you're liking it overall.
I've got an '88 22re 4Runner that I'm dreaming of stuffing a diesel in. Any idea how hard this is compared to the newer models? Would prefer the power of the 1kz vs the 2L, but I'm open to suggestions.
I do auto repair for a living and put a Cummins 6BT in a FJ60, so I should be able to handle the work.

Ihave always wanted to do this swap so bad, I wish i lived in texas i would be at your shop before you knew it. I have an auto matic in mine right now the A340H is that what the trucks have that you are doing them in. if so do sell just the wiring kits if i did the swap myself then wanted you harness.
