Spray lots of degreaser, cover your electrical components and intakes. After spraying try using a pressure washer.

I've used Simple Green a lot, buy it by the gallon, and it's safe on aluminum. I would be careful with a pressure washer on any kind of seals or moving parts, it can force water past the seals and you know what happens then. Keep your distance with the pressure washer, or just use a garden hose or sprinkler.

Super clean degreaser.
Not necessarily safe for the environment, but it'll take grease down to pound-town.

When I was in the Corps, we used a chemical called TriChlor. Trichloro-triflouro-ethane. Worked fantastic. Nasty to the environment, but back then, as long as we disposed of it "properly", no problem. We used it in an ultrasonic tank, and a few minutes would clean ANYthing. Including rifles. Took the grease and carbon RIGHT off. It had a give away, though. It would turn the areas with the phosphate finish, the matt-black ones, a nice, bright, white. If you didn't reapply a layer of gun lube to it, the armory types would have a fit. But heck, the rifle was CLEAN!
When I got out, Simple Green came along after a few years. It works pretty well, not as fast, but nearly as effective. I use Simple Green for all kinds of cleaning. Counter tops, laundry, engine grease, you name it. Much more variety to it's capabilities than Trichlor had
I don't use it on my weapons, though.

Have fun, all!
