i just drove my rig for the first time after sas i did bymyself. it has death wobble at 35mph none before then or after its smooth, just for as long as i'm holding that speed.any sudjestions on why

 

caster angle could be off , davezoffroad sell shackles that should help

 

no caster is fine and shackles are good i dont understand what shackles would have to do with caster. maybe toe in is off

 

hows your pinion angle ?

 

no front drive shaft in but pinion angle looks like everyone elses rigs in my group. pinion angle on rear is same as i always have had

 

Could be lots of things. Speed specific suggests unbalanced tires.

I had a similar issue with a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My tires were rather old. In researching the company did not recommend running past 7 to 8 years. Mine were at least 10 years old with plenty of tread still on them. This vehicle is not a daily driver but very dependable. I believe the inner cords were messed up. Started throwing money into the problem: steering stabilizer; front end alignments, etc. Wound up replacing tires and problem solved. Might want to check the number on your tire to see how old they are and see about replacing them.

 

it has bead lock kit on the rims and can't be balanced plus they are old buckshots and i've grooved them. but it drove finr before the i did the sas

 

Did you use a kit for the sas? All new stuff like bushings, springs, U bolts, etc? Without more information, I think everyone's gonna assume a bad install or tires imbalanced. Does it track straight otherwise?

 

can you borrow some tires from a friend

 

yes i used a trail gear kit all new stuff

 

Shackle lengths will change the pinion angle, hence changes the knuckle angle, hence changes the way it steers. It has a lot to do with how it handles. If your having trouble visualizing it, hop under their and try to imagine how it would handle if you rotated the axle forward 45 degrees and drove it at 35mph

death wobble gone!!!!!!! just regrooved my gateway R buckshots and run them 20psi for awhile and all wobble gone no matter what speed
