Exclamation IAC Valve????

Hey everybody I am having problems with my idle in the cold. I have narrowed it down to the IAC valve I think, the only problem is I cant find it and now I feel like a moron asking. I know it is supposed to be under the throttle body but nothing is there. The truck starts up a little rough in the cold and idles rough until it is warm. I have check the tps, cold start injector, vacuum leaks, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, igniter, coil, injector, egr, etc.... and this is the last thing on my list. I have looked in my haynes, and FSM but can't find anything. Can someone tell me where the IAC is??
BTW I have a 1987 4runner, the motor was supposed to be rebuilt 15,000 ago but I don't have many details on that. I can find the Idle control screw but it is attached to the throttle body on the passenger side with a coolant tube going down the side. Here is a picture of what my throttle body looks like...
This has been driving me nuts since its gotten cold and Ive been chasing this problem for weeks!

Look below the intake manifold water neck and you will see it, it has a rubber hose coming off the front of it and an electrical plug on it. They also are connected to the cooling system and if the cooling system is not maintained the IAC can get plugged with rust. Also a new one is very expensive.

In your first picture look at the rubber hose in front of the throttle linkage, follow that hose down, its connected to the IAC.

In your second picture, what is that metal elbow on the throttle body ?, if its not sealed it will let unmetered air into the engine and it will cause your engine to run ruff. I would recommend that you remove it and replace it with a rubber or silicone elbow. That could be a big part of your problem right there.

He has an 87 4Runner and the IAC is a different style. The IAC your showing is for a 90 and newer 22RE.

Okay i am losing my mind! I followed that hose and i lose it going back underneath the plenum. Does anyone have a picture of where it is exactly. Should I just take off my tb?
Oh btw that metal elbow is siliconed all around and clamped

If yours is like mine which it is because you have a slanted intake it should be about a foot under your throttle and look like this.

And a little farther away

those two bolts are what holds it up, that and the coolant lines that feed into it.

Question Coolant Leak??

Is it possible for the coolant to leak into the air intake at the IAC? Today I connected the plug, that had been hanging for who knows how long, to the IAC and it's been blowing white nasty smelling smoke ever since. I even unplugged the connector and I still get white smoke EVERYWHERE (under hood, as well as out tailpipe)
Teach me to plug in loose connectors

Thanks,
Tim
ps: 87 4runner, 22re, 5spd, non-turbo, fuel injected

I wish there had been a follow up to Imbodie's post - I've been having the same coolant steam cloud and have my suspicions that the IAC may be some how leaking coolant directly into the intake - Is this possible? has any one heard of this happening? Just replaced the head gasket... again... and still the cloud- goes away after a quarter mile or so. Also seem to be losing around a half gallon of coolant in a 20 mile trip.

I am not sure which came first but end result was a blown headgasket...
was a long path to recovery but if you ever need a mechanic near Brooksville Florida, google ToyoDoc.... ultimately he resurected my runner

Thanks Imbodie- Guess I'll pull the IAC out and check it for any extra holes as soon as it stops raining.
