Dash Lights

I know, everyone seems to have issues with their dash lights. Mine seem to be a bit different than those that I have been reading about.

Two weeks ago, I put a tach into my 88 4x4. In trying to get the thing to light up, I jammed the illumination wire into the connector at the dimmer. I think this is what has caused the whole of the dash lights to go out. I don't understand why... because nothing else is out (to my knowledge). I think the dash lights are on the tail light circuit, so I checked that fuse (and all the other fuses) and figured it was blown. But it wasn't. So is there another circuit it's on? Or does it have its own fuse somewhere? I have checked a couple of the bulbs, and they don't appear to be blown, but I haven't checked their resistance.

Any ideas what it could be? I hope its a quick fix.

I ended up putting the light on the tach on the ignition circuit (so it's always on), so at least i have a light on that... haha.

Hmm I would just check all of your fuses. I dont quite understand what you connected to but you may have fried some wire jackets
