Crank no start

Crank no start
I need help.
I have a 1991 2wd pickup 22re. I recently adjusted the ignition timing and got it running like a dream.
one day I went to the gym and I left and it would turn over but not start. I changed the fuel pump about 2 years ago and just changed my basic ignition system components. Cap, rotor, plugs, wires. Now I have no idea what's happening. I just swapped the coil because it was low on the ohms meter and it still won't start.
I pulled the valve cover to see if the chain had broken but it still has tension and has no wear. I tested the 4th cylinder wire for arch and got it.
Started fluid won't do it and clutch starting won't do it. So I'm pretty much stuck.
I would appreciate any approach to solving this issue. Thanks

You just used a timing light, get it out again. Put the inductive pickup on each plug wire and crank. If the light doesn't flash, the plug didn't fire.
If all the plugs are firing, re-check ignition timing. Not trivial if the engine won't start, but you'll be able to tell if it is WAY off.
Then check compression on each cylinder. Much easier (and more useful) than removing the valve cover.
Is the fuel pump running? Start by jumpering FP to B+ (key-on) and listen. If pump running, try to start with the jumper.
Try to do the easiest stuff first. Note that you don't have to replace any gaskets or crush washers (or parts!) with the tests described.

Got the timing light out. And its in time. All four cylinders are getting juice
Just swapped the starter to see if it needed more umph.... I'm going to do a compression test with my finger cause I don't have a gauge.
still doesn't sound different

you swapped the starter? next, try rotating the tires.
or, you could troubleshoot in a sensible order as outlined above. the simplest test is the fuel pump jumper. do it and give us the reults.

So I had jumped the fuel pump the first day and in the parking lot. I forgot to mention that.
I took the starter to O'Reilly's and those nerds said it didn't work at all.... which is completely wrong. But I took it hoping they would tell me the output was low but instead they gave me the answer of a auto parts store worker.
so i pulled the valve cover and saw that it jumped time or it was assembled out of time. Idk which yet. But I'm gonna fix the time. I think that's why. I pulled the plugs and they smelt like gas, the spark plugs are sparking. So right now I'm gonna fix the time and see what happens.
I felt foolish at first for buying a new starter but I was there and it was old. 🤷♂️

I did the injector jump in the gym parking lot and have since done it a couple times.
I just saw that it jumped time. From the cam and the crank so I'm gonna pull the chain cover and see what happens.
btw. I change the starter cause I went to get it tested at O'Reilly's to make sure it was spinning fast enough. Those casuals said it didn't work at all which doesn't make sense but it was old and I didn't feel like coming back in a couple months.
Do I regret it? Kinda

if the chain jumped, you'll need to inspect the pistons for damage. because the chain didn't break, all the pistons need to be checked. if the chain breaks, only one piston (if any) will have possible intake valve impact damage.
