22re wont start

So to start this off, I know there are a million of these treads, and I think I've read almost all of them. As is obviously stated in the title, my truck wont start, and seeing as how I've been worked on this thing all summer it is a major bummer. I refreshed most of the engine including the timing with engnbldrs kit, the water pump, oil pump, front timing cover and as many gaskets as i could replace. The truck will turn over but will not sputter or even attempt to start. So far Ive checked that the distributer isn't 180* off which I'm pretty sure it isn't. I ran 12v to the fuel pump and it does send fuel. Ive got new spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap so i should be getting good spark. I tried starter fluid and got a couple backfires out of the exhaust which isn't good but I'm not sure what that is telling me. Please help me out if you can I will give any more information that I can if you ask. This truck is exhausting me.

Thanks

Jeremy

Are you sure the timing marks were perfect? Also make sure the O2 sensor is plugged in.

Make sure u are getting power when u turn the key... There may be a bad wire or relay.. My money is on the injectors being clogged or dirty...

Okey Dokey, so I was mad at the truck and tired. Rechecked timing and tried the key and vroom vroom, really loud without the muffler and with the cam in it. Still need to break out the timing light and get the o2 sensors in but hopefully everything will work good. Had to remove a stupid theft deterent thing bc it wouldnt let me start the truck but now everything is good. Thanks for the suggestions.

What you need to do is buy a CASE of ETHER Starting Fluid. Just cut the tops off the cans and pour them into your carborator. Works on our old D-6 Caterpillar.
