Cracked block?

Like if life is not a b***** already, well, I was cleaning the top of the pistons a few minutes ago and just found this thing between the front two piston. It looks like a crack on the block but also looks like where the metal meets when I was modded.....what you guys think? and if I put JB weld will it work? I cant see a crack on the top where the hg goes and that is why I am asking.....

IMHO, that just looks like a cast line, left over from when the block was cast. You are talking about the straight lines right? I didn't see anything else in the pictures, I think you are ok.

If that was a crack, you would see it extending to the top surface of the block, where the head gasket goes, like you said. I could not see any sign of that in the pictures either. I would say 'Run it!'

I think it's too straight to be a crack. Also looks like a casting line to me.

100% for sure a casting line! If it was a crack that motor would have seized long ago!

It's soooo a casting line. I promise! And just FYI JB weld won't fix anything like that...ever, unless you're selling it within the hour lol.

Well, I'm in agreement, it's a cast mark. 874runnersr5 was talking about dye penetration to check and make sure it's not a crack. That's not necessary, it's NOT a crack. Bridger5228: No, JB weld won't fix anything like that. I don't see where anybody was talking about using JB weld. And I don't even think it would last an hour before you could sell the thing!
