Coils done with pictures, thanks ZUK.

Be a long commute from NM. I'm in East Texas. But your welcome to come have all the wood you want. All I have is trees...
Thats cool. I think I'll just stick my 2 bumper jacks under the rear bumper, chock the front tires, get it up and frame supported (of course) and I bet my local Orilley will loan me the coil compressors, if not I might have to make a set cause I dont know where else I'd find some.
The angle grinder is ALWAYS ready.... LOL.

Ya, rjfortuna...I'm thinking 100 or 125 pounders are more than what most people need. I think the weldless method rocks. I don't think any heating or hammering is needed. If the coil does not slide in the upper part then cut some more of the steel stopper off until the radius opens up more. I'm looking forward to your pics.

Ok. zuk. I'll modify my ebay order if its not too late then. I guess to 125's.
I'll take an inch off the top with the grinder, see if I can get it in then if I can take 1/2 inch intervals off and post the amount it finally took to get them in on this site.
Zuk, Could you clarify if the lift state for the 12 and 14's on the page is over stock? Or over where the truck is sitting. (On average.) I know its not exact. Please? Thank you.

Thank you RJ...that's the info I would like to add to my website. Take pics of how much you cut off....use good ole masking tape and it will look factory nice if the cuts are straight. If you are getting the 14" coils then you may find the easiest way to slip them in place (without an annoying, cumbersome compressor) is to loosen up the lower rubber mount, take rubber out, slip into coil, and then compress by hand and force onto the top of pack.
Right now, I'm not sure exactly of the overall lift per 12 inch coils or 14"....but everything I reference is before and after lift....and is not referenced to "over the factory setting" ...so if the Runner is sagging then adding the 12" coils should remove it all and add a smidge of stink bug effect.....perfect when you have to load the back up with camping gear
Now, I know some of the lower rubber snubbers are cracked up pretty bad on some Runners and new ones are sure a good idea for adding coils to them....anyone have the part number for the rubbers?

I'll try that. Sounds good. I changed my order down to the 14" 125's on everyone's suggestion.
I'll take some detailed pics and put em in the thread as soon as I get to the project (there are always more projects that time lately...)
Thanks so much everyone for all the input. Great thread right here...

Got springs in the mail today (wow fast shipping Zuk.) As soon as I finish my ARK project (been raining for like 8 months here...)
I'll install em and take good pics of the install, and cut the upper bump stops in 1" increments to document when they fit best, and will go in with the maximum holding area of the upper bump stops.

I'm very interested in what you find, rjfortuna. The 14" coils should remain tight even during full articulation as long as your suspension is stock. So, a minimal amount of upper locating bracket is needed....an inch should suffice....but the more the better, of course.
I would think that you can force the coil in place (without coil compressors) if you loosen the u-bolts, remove the rubber, and place it in the coil and then compress the coil about 1/2" or so (by hand) and force it in place over the leafpack center nut. Keep all fingers in the clear else you will get the mother of all blood-blisters
Looking forward to pics...I will add your info to my links....and take note of how the 14" coils will not ever loosen up and fall out based on how tight the fit in there in a full extended wheelwell.

edit----I just noted from your profile that yours is not the typical saggy 4Runner (86 custom cab 4x4, m1008 ex military 1.25 chevy 68 Kaiser Jeep) so this will be interesting what you end up with.
I noted you said only about 2" of air gap over the rubber.....that is alot of sag for a pick-up model....them coils should lift the hell out of it.

ToyoTech- I could sell you 4 mounts for 100 but it just seems so much simplier to do what rjfortuna and others are doing with this weldless system. My 4 mounts end up replacing your lower rubber and upper steel.....takes you farther away from the "oem' look.

I would like some feedback from the people with the weld less method on the squeek. I had made upper and lower mounts with the square 2 1/4 tube, I then had the grind and taper the corners to stop some squeeks, but now it is squeek free.

i seen the weldless way, i still havent heard from anyone about if they make any noise

The squeaking / rattling issue is a concern. Stace (one of the coil mods shown on Zuk's page) told me he recently took the coils out of his 4runner because they rattled too much with an empty bed. He assembled some leaf springs that keep the rear up similarly for driving around town but wants to be able to put the coils back in for hauling heavier loads. He had capture bolts. I wonder how much they may have contributed to the rattling.
Though I don't have an immediate need for it, I like the idea of a mounting setup that would allow the coils to be easily swapped in and out.

Seems to me from what I've gathered so far (with zero actual experience) that if you're going to make mounts, round tubing is preferable to square.

Install delayed due to last minute hunting invite and inclement weather. Junkers, you could be fishing in my driveway. As soon as it drys out enough to operate a jack with out it sinking into the ground enough to put the tire back to terra firma, I will do the install and post pics (provided no more hunting invites come along. Priorities gentlemen...).

That's pretty much what I did when I still had the pickup. Drove into the mountains and loaded the truck up above the cab with firewood and wheeled right back out. No complaints.

oh, thanks.
i was referring to ZUK and his mounts.
the link you provided references the 12" and 14" coils - which will be purchasing!!!
i'm thinking of going with the 12" to restore ride height.
thanks!
ZUK where are you - lol.
