Clutch Help
Bear with my noobness, this is my first truck.
So I just bought me a '89 runner (sr5 v6) and the poor thing didn't even make it home.
When I got it the clutch was squeaking, was told told the throwout bearing was dead.
It drove fine when I tested it, but when I picked it up, it would stall every time I would stop, very frustrating, especially trying to start the truck and actually get it into first.
Adjusted the idle screw so that it wouldn't stall (I drove around for a bit then headed home, stopped at another light, and then was unable to get it into gear. At all. Fortunately my brother was following me and got it home dry shifting.
I'm guessing the stalling was caused by the clutch, which I don't thing was disengaging fully, also noticed sometimes I couldn't start it because the clutch wasn't disengaged as well (found the stop clutch start button way after, haha).
The only thing I've checked so far is the clutch fluid level, which was fine.
Any insight appreciated, thanks.

Oh yeah....right. Hmmm.....does it idle any better when warm? better cold? How's the air filter? Did the 4rnr sit up for any length of time before you bought it?
This could be a number of things going on.

Well, start with the simple things first. I bought a VW Westfalia a long time ago. When I picked it up, it died on me half way home. Of course, it had been sitting for a good long while. Needed to flush out the fuel tank, new fuel pump and filter, but it really needed a good tune up. (Soon enough, it even needed a new clutch). So, since the simple things tend to get neglected or overlooked, give it a tune up and check/replace all the filters.

The PO could be right. It could be the throw-out bearing, but that usually makes noise when you push the clutch in.
I would check the clutch slave cylinder. Usually if they fail there is fluid in the boot that holds the rod in place. They're relatively cheap (less than $20) and take a fair bit of abuse. Check that boot, and let us know if there is anything in it.

Well, that's kinda why I said the clutch was a good place to start. It could be stalling the motor. It would also buck forward, though, when trying to start the motor or come to a stop....which he didn't really specify...which led me to believe at some point the motor would run enough to even adjust the idle.
Anyway, rule out the clutch first since you KNOW that's a problem.

slave cylinder is on the side of the bellhousing on the transmission. If i were you i would do things in this order regarding the clutch:
1-check master and slave cylinder seals for leakage
2-bleed clutch to ensure air is not an issue
3-pull rubber boot off of clutch fork on bellhousing and use a mirror and light to look inside at your throwout bearing and clutch assy.
4-pump some grease onto the throwout bearing from outside to see if it makes it at least managable.
5-if these things do not help or cure the problem (which they probably wont seeing as how it sounds like your throwout bearing and disk may be toast) its time to tear it all out and replace.

Squeeking? Or squealing? I don't mean to get semantic, but a squeaking could be the clutch pedal or mc. Does the noise come from there or the transmission?

So, we found the problem. Hydro system is fine..
[Missing teeth?]
[Yes, the release bearing is fused to itself.]
Can someone explain, please, how the **** you do that?
