Cheap Headgasket OK?

I am wondering if anyone has run into problems from installing a cheap headgasket. Im looking at one on ebay right now that comes with everything and the head bolts, all for $120 or so. Down at the Auto Zone I would pay about $300 for all that. I know there are something that you don't want to go cheap on, and there are other things that it doesn't hurt to go cheap on, so what do you guys think, or what have you experienced, with headgaskets?

Thanks,

Will

It depends on how soon you want to be doing this repair again. Your best bet for head gaskets are OEM. Engnbldr is also another reputable source. He sells his stuff on ebay too. Is he, by chance, the ebay seller you are looking at?

I've no personal experience but that's one part I wouldn't go cheap on. Think of all the work you'd have to redo if the cheap one doesn't last.

Really, fix it right the first time. It is money well spent, and, who wants to fix something twice??!!

" You get what you pay for", Applies to the HG for sure. Has any one on here ever tried this company? www.cometic.com, They make multi-layer steel Headgaskets.

The set I was looking at was from CNSAutoparts. I just looked at Engnbldr.com though and that is a good price so I'll go ahead and pick that set up. Thanks for your help!!!
