chasis ground strap
yes i just dropped a motor into a 93 pickup, we got evreything hooked up and tried to start it and nothing, we checked all the fuses and they were good, i have dash lights and evreything it just wont turn, the starter wont even bump. we got it tested and it was good. a freind of ours says it might not be grounded and to try the jumper cable trick but still nothing. i was wondering if anybody knew where the chasis ground wire is on a 93 4x4 pickup with a 22re and if anybody had any ideas to what it might be. also we tested the wire that goes to the solenoid and its not gettin any power.

The negative battery cable grounds straight to the block, so check that.
There is also a ground wire from the rear engine hook to a bolt in the upper middle of the firewall. That grounds the engine to the chassis, and there is also a smaller wire that comes off the negative cable and grounds to the core support.

hmm... you need to figure out why there is no power to that wire..(you probably already know that lol).
you could bypass that wire and just run a hot one to a switch or just touch it to the batt, that wont fix your problem but ill bet it will start

we did and evrey one of them gets power except for the one that one black and white one that runs down to the solenoid. we traced it all the way up to the fire wall and even when you turn the key to start it gets no voltage.

Since its obviously not a grounding issue, you can move on to step two. Check all your connections, make sure everything is tight, make sure the cables are hooked up and tight, etc.
Btw have you tried bench testing the starter? perhaps the contacts have gone bad inside the starter.
