Had to do this two days ago. Go to Autozone and get a tie rod puller (kinda looks like a clamp with a bolt running through it). Put it on, tighten the bolt, and pull that sucker right off.

pickle forks suck. pitman arm puller are just big TRE pullers and they'll get the job done.

Screw that. Get a propane torch and cook it off.

How much was it to swap the 3.4 in there, I have a 95 and I hate that 3.0!

Puller. Buy one and you will thank yourself everytime you do front end work.
Its so easy just to tighten the sucker on, and pop shes off.

Instead of ramming a pickle fork in there (forget reusing the boot on that joint) or just smashing it with a sledge..

Tighten the puller up to a bunch, then tap it the side of the hole with two hammers at the same time. It should pop right out. Be careful about applying too much heat to the tie rod (not tiRe rod) as it has been heat-treated and sees a lot of force- you don't want to weaken it any.
