cam sproket
hey all im in the middle of pulling heads to do headgaskets but the only prob is we cant get the sprokets off have any of yall taken it off i have pulled used and impact and everything we broke and OTC spanner tool i mean we have used a torque wrench and its over 120lbs when it shold be 80 does anyone have any idea suggestions or anything

I know there is a trick for crankshaft pully bolts...might work here....get your wrench on the sprocket bolt, and let the handle of the wrench rest on the inner fender or something else SOLID. then use the starter to bump the motor, and it will break the bolts loose.... I have no idea though...you tell me.

Those cam sprockets can be very stubborn.
Best trick I found is take a socket, 10mm I believe, and with and extension "grab" onto one of the bolts behind the sprocket located in the backer plates. Using the head of this bolt as an anchor, and the extension leveraging against one of the pulley sprocket arms, have helper find the longest breaker bar known to man and try and loosen the cam bolt.
Hold the extension firm against the backer plate and the cam bolt will give.
Also, try some Deep Creep of other favorite rust breaker at the bolt. Might free things up.

hey thanks all i ended up using a break over bar and an extender pipe and a 27mm open box and a piece o aquare tube to extend it i had it on the cam ther is a place where it is 6sided and yea i figure it was about 180ft lol when its only spozed to be like 80
