Move to 3rd gen or stick with my 2nd?

I have run into a predicament. I have been offered $6000 for my 2nd gen Runner (the one in my sig). I have also found a good lead on a stock 4x4 3rd gen w/ 3.4L with a 5-speed. Like many of you here, I am in love with my truck, however, this may be a good oppertunity to upgrade. I was about to begin a 5-speed swap on my Runner, though I have not purchased my components. Let me know what yall think. Thank you.

to put things in another perspective possibly missed:

consider everything you've put into your truck, calculate, even if just roughly, the amount spent in upgrades.

which truck style do you like best, it might help sway your opinion if you like the looks of one more.

i dont know about the 3rd gen engine....see if its good, might compare gas mileage if thats an issue.

FIPK, exaust, rims and tires, lights, racks, playpen?, bedlinered stuff.... not sure how that adds up and weather or not you will be happy spending on another rig.

how much is this 3rd gen your looking at, for perspective of those that could give you their opinion?

i'm just trying to help you decide, i dont want to give my opinion on it since i know NOTHING about 3rd gen and up. lol good luck.

you have any pics of the trucks. but if i was you i would stay with the 2nd gen, sounds really awesome and you have put alot of money and time into it, but if your looking for something new go for it, its not our choice.... its yours.

I've driven more than a few 2nd gens and they are nice Toyotas but moving to a 3rd gen is a big step up in everything including comfort on the street.

2nd gen kinda guy

I'm sticking with my 2nd gen. I just can't bring myself to let it go. It's bye bye auto and hello 5-speed swap for me now. There may even be a full forest green Rhino coating in my future as well. Thanks for your opinions.
