Build Brainstorm

Hello everyone!

My beloved 94 pu has finally reached 200k miles, and I would like to turn this truck into something even more fun!
I am looking for build ideas, engine ideas, anything that sounds like fun (for around $5k)

I like the idea of long travel IFS, would be going for a "street mobber" or something to mildly terrorize the speed bumps in town, and still take me into the mountains for skiing/mountain biking/spontaneous adventures

current setup:
4.56 gears
lock-rite rear
22re enginebuilder 261 cam
soon to have tri-Y header

two rockford 8" subs, (400w of AWESOME)
110A alternator
grizzly bear bottle opener

would love your ideas, thoughts on LC engines, 22re Performance engines, diesel swaps, what have you

Engine running ok now?

Engine swaps can add up fast.

You could do a more budget friendly long travel setup and go with a blazeland kit.

Truck runs just fine, I believe i have some fuel/air issues (had to Frankenstein afm) but good power. I'm more worried about the bottom end, knowing I'll push it past 4,000rpm alot, and I dont have the knowledge and space to rebuild the block

The bottom end on a 22re is stout. You can start with a compression test and pulling a bearing cap to know what shape it is in.

I've heard great things about 22reperformance. Mixed with LCE. I would go 22reperformance for a rebuild if that is what you decide to do.

Use the search bar on this forum to start reading about other builds.

in my experience youll always come out on top if you upgrade what you feel is lacking instead of just throwing money at a build for no reason. sometimes you end up wishing you had spent money on something else, ya dig. I personally don't see that there is much to gain from a "long travel" on those trucks. the amount of money it cost versus the travel youll gain just seems negligible to me, if its long travel you need you might as well SAS it. wanna get some crazy performance on the cheap? chevy 63 swap the rear.
